Ingredients:
- ¼ cup thick grained rice or broken basmati rice
- 1½ cup full cream milk
- 1 apple
- 1 peach
- A pinch of cinnamon powder
Procedure:
Wash the rice and transfer to a pan along with the milk and the cinnamon powder and allow to boil for 30 minutes. Now peel the apple and the peach and remove the seeds. Chop the fruits into tiny pieces and set aside. Once the rice has cooked and is soft in texture put in the chopped apple and peach and allow to boil for another ten minutes.
By now the fruits would also be soft and pulpy and the rice a creamy texture. Let the rice pudding cool down. Once cool, put into the blender and blend till the rice pudding forms a creamy consistency. You can now take out the amount that you would like to feed your baby and store the rest in the refrigerator for later use.
The apple and peach have distinctive flavours and the cinnamon releases some of its own making this rice pudding weaning recipe a great substitution for milk, besides it is healthy and filling.
