
Rice Pudding
Your baby’s nutritional needs are very different from us adults. They need a lot of energy foods that are filled with vitamins, calcium, starch and fiber. Including all of these in your recipes is now possible.
These are simple homemade recipes that do not require too much of effort, infact they are so versatile that you can team them up with other fresh fruit purees.
Here is a simple rice pudding with bananas that your baby will love. The texture of the rice pudding gets even creamier when the banana puree is added.
Bananas are also a good source of potassium and fiber along with loads of vitamins. They are also excellent antacids and protects the stomach from ulcers etc. it also aids in good bowel movements if eaten in moderation.
Milk as we all know is filled with calcium that is good for the development of bones and teeth
Banana Rice Pudding Ingredients
- Brown rice cooked – 1 cup
- Whole milk yogurt (plain) – ½ cup
- Banana puree – ½ banana
- Vanilla extract – ½ tsp
- Cinnamon power a small pinch
(This recipe does not require sugar, as the bananas sweeten it enough)
Method
Bring all the ingredients together in a saucepan and keep it on medium flame. Stir well at regular intervals till it forms nice and creamy and the rice melts in the mouth.
If your baby is too young to chew the tiny grains of rice, you can blend the pudding in a blender. If your baby can chew a bit, then do not blend, let him/her enjoy the texture.
You can also combine a few other fruits in this banana rice pudding like, apples, blueberries, avocado, peaches etc. This can be stored in a freezer as well. Make sure that you seal it well in an air tight container. Thaw it well when you want to feed your baby this wonderful recipe.
