
An Enjoyable Fish Pie Recipe
A fish pie is a simple dish, but can be served at anytime of the day. It can act as a snack time dish or be served as a wholesome one. Further, the dish may not look too elaborate but contains many types of ingredients that are both healthy and good to taste. Ingredients
- 750 g potatoes
- Knob butter
- 3 tbsp milk
- 2 (350 g) salmon fillets, cubed
- 250 g cod fillets, cubed
- 100 g peas
- 200 g crème fraiche
- Chives
Procedure
Heat the oven to 200 C. In the meantime, wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into large chunks. Put them in a pan of boiling water, and cook for 10-12 minutes or until tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk. Also, add seasoning according to your taste. You can use any type of seasoning, such as pepper, bay leaf, etc. Now, keep the potatoes aside.
In a pan, pour some water and cook the salmon and cod for 5 minutes. Drain the fishes and put them back into the pan. Now, add the peas, chives, crème fraiche and seasoning into the pan. Let them cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from the fire and cool for sometime.
First layer a casserole with the fish mixture and then layer the mashed potatoes over the fish mixture. Put into the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes or until it is golden brown in color. Remove from the oven and serve piping hot with any thing you like.
