Apricot, Peach and Plum Fruit Puree
Sometimes it becomes hard to think of good weaning recipes for your baby. Fruits have always been a great alternative to milk and starting your baby on fruits is generally the most common advice that you will get from everyone.
Even when you buy baby foods from the market, you will notice that the first flavours introduced are those of fruits. So why not make your own fruit purees at home for your baby. It will not only allow you to add variety, but you will also be able to give variations to them to make them tastier and more acceptable. This fruit puree recipe is one great tasting weaning recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1 Apricot
- 1 Peach
- 1 Plum
- A pinch of fresh cinnamon powder
Procedure:
Peel the apricot, peach and the plum and cut into quarters. In a saucepan boil half a cup of water and add the cinnamon powder to it. Blanch the apricot and the peach and remove from the pan. By blanching, we are only softening the fruits a little while retaining their nutrients, so there is no need for the fruits to be stewed to form the fruit puree. The plum does not need to be blanched as it is already pulpy inside.
Blend the fruits in a blender till the fruits form a smooth consistency and serve. You can even store some of this puree in the refrigerator for later use, so if you wish you can increase the quantity of the fruits and prepare the puree and store in the freezer.
